Live theatrical event! National Tour!
Award-winning, world-renowned comedian and ventriloquist Brad Cummings brings his cast of characters, voices and family-friendly fun to Sedona when he performs live, onstage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. There will be three performances Jan. 21-23, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival.
Cummings is currently on tour performing to sold-out shows around the country and has been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman.
From his early days learning his craft in comedy clubs to main stage showrooms in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Lake Tahoe, Cummings brings a fresh, clean and original approach to his comedy and ventriloquism. His comical cast may include a precocious baby dinosaur, a teenage space traveler looking for intelligent life on Earth, a tough talking ‘made guy’ who insists he was ‘made’ by Gipetto and don’t be surprised if Brad uses members of the audience to showcase his ‘throwing voice’ skills.
“Everyone had an invisible playmate when they were young but mine used to talk back ... and everyone else was able to hear him.” The ranting of a mad child? Not at all. These are the words of Brad Cummings when asked to describe his early fascination with ventriloquism. A fascination that would lead him to become one of today’s most successful and innovative ventriloquists.
Soon after his arrival in Hollywood, Cummings became a popular performer at some of Los Angeles’ most respected comedy clubs, including The Improv and The Ice House. He was hired as an opening act for such stars as John Denver, Captain & Tennille and Dorothy Hamill. Cummings as more than conquered the art of ventriloquism — he has taken it to a whole new plateau. With his innovative approach, unusual characters and unique presentation, it’s no doubt that he is now one of the most recognizable faces in the media. His numerous television appearances have allowed millions of people to witness his ground-breaking style of ventriloquism and comedy.
